A Nice Chat
While doing the Sunday crossword puzzle recently, I was hit with a very
interesting thought. One of the clues in this particular puzzle called for a synonym
for “small talk”. The answer was “chat”. This struck me as odd because in many
ways HyperTalk is very much the preferred object oriented programming language for
the Macintosh. One of the earliest object oriented languages, as you know, is called
“SmallTalk”. By calling this column “HyperChat”, Fred makes a rather obscure
